Signing in with a team seat turns the add-in into a window onto the hosted platform: the reviews, cell-anchored comments, sign-off, and canonical versions your team already keeps appear right in the Excel sidebar. The free, local comparison keeps working either way.
How do I install it?
From Microsoft AppSource, or have your Microsoft 365 admin deploy it to the whole organization. See the installation guide.
Does my workbook data leave Excel?
Not in free, signed-out use — all comparison is local. When you sign in and open a team review, you’re working against versions your team has already connected to the platform. Sensitive, never-share-it workbooks are a better fit for the offline desktop app.
